CONTACT : Review

After watching Interstellar( I watched it bit lately), I was confused in the ending, which talked about some labyrinthine 5D space so I came across a video by Neil deGrasse Tyson(Scientist in the Cosmos series on discovery channel) in which he explained interstellar as well as told that Contact is his most favourite science-fiction film.

So, this movie is undoubtedly a masterpiece. Based on a novel by Carl Sagan. Directed by Robert Zemeckis. Cast line-up:Jodi Foster(Dr.EleanorArroway), Mathew McConaughey(Palmer Joss), Tom Skeritt(David Drumlin),William Fichtner(Kent).

As Eleanor since her childhood always wanted to be an astronaut, her faith in science and outer space was equivalent to a priest's faith in god. Palmer had strong belief in god and in later life became an eminent theologist. The story is quite interesting as on one hand Eleanor was trying to have contact with the other terristrial being, while on the other everyone consider her work as tedious and time consuming.

As, one day Arroway had made contact, along with Kent( his part really remarkable and splendid) ,she was going futher in this mission and trying to decipher the message but Dr.Arroway was toppled by David as the leader of  this mission. Fortunately or unfortunately he was assailed by terrorist(security breach) and mission was failed. Luckily, there was another set in which Arroway volunterred and finally went through an 18 hour time lapse which is equal to just fraction of seconds on earth.She went through inscrutable worm-holes and different galaxies and finally came back to earth in one piece.

The story goes on as a science fiction but in last 30 min, it emerged as conflict between rationality and belief; faith and facts; 'Science and God'. The way it is projected makes the audience amazed and startled. It generates a deep question in mind - does god exist? Or those who believe in god, suffers from some delusion?

This very obscure question makes every individual in front of screen to ponder over and imagine that can science ever be able to deny or accept the existence of god? Well I leave this question to you all.

Well, considering the cast, Mathew  was just amazing, he connects when he talk. Jodie had shown that to always have hope and aim higher in this sophisticated society which consists of inimical people like David . William, played the part of a blind scientist and who can recognise anyone by his/her cologne.

Direction, cinematography and screenplay was all brilliant.

C'mon guys, if you have interest in science then its going to be a nice pick for you.
The film always stays on plot and thats why IMDB rated 7.4.
